DAILY BUSINESS ACTIVITIES FOR SUCCESS


Print this out and cut it apart in strips. Put the strips in a jar and draw out three every “Watkins Work Day” and put them into action! There are several that refer to parties – if you don’t do parties leave them out. Theses are some great ideas to give you a good jumpstart!


  1. Send a catalog to a co-worker that has moved.

  2. Send a catalog to other home business Reps. Or other exchange shows.

  3. Post a catalog in the teacher’s lounge at your child’s school. .

  4. Post a catalog in the employee’s lunchroom.

  5. Hold an open house.

  6. Have a booth at a school fair.

  7. Advertise in you alumni newsletter and / or local newspaper.

  8. Give a catalog to the receptionist at your doctor or dentist’s office.

  9. Include a business card or flyer with your bill payments.

  10. Call past hostesses and book another party.

  11. Put a current catalog in your neighbour’s door. Include a 10% off coupon.

  12. Ask friends to have a class/party/open house.

  13. Advertise in you church/community newsletter.

  14. Take a Watkins recipe to every potluck. Don’t forget to bring a few copies of the recipe.

  15. Host an office coffee party or brunch.

  16. Pass catalogs out at a PTA meeting.

  17. Mail out flyers/promotion catalogs and a wish list.

  18. Host your own party/open house. Could even be fundraiser for you favourite charity.

  19. Join Welcome Wagon. New people may be looking for Watkins Products or an income opportunity.

  20. Set up a display at a craft fair.

  21. Participate in a school fundraiser.

  22. Have your spouse or significant other promote the products at work.

  23. Have you and your family members wear a Watkins T –Shirt or Sweatshirt.

  24. Hold a Holiday Shopping Show for men (ie Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day)

  25. Offer a wish list showing both gift and giver to your guest. Call the gift fiver and tell him/her what the guest wants.

  26. Set up a display at a mall.

  27. Put an “ask me about Watkins” button on your purse or coat.

  28. Ask past hostesses at parties to talk about their free products.

  29. Hold a career coffee (opportunity evening) in your home.

  30. Cold Telephone Calling. Prepare a script to find out if they have a home-based business, if not would they be interested in looking at one?

  31. Do a “hostess half price special” at your next party.

  32. Mention the “hostess half price special” and other benefits at least 3 times per day.

  33. Hold up higher priced products and mention half-price products to encourage booking.

  34. Mention how much your “average” hostess gets in products.

  35. At the beginning of your party, mention the hostess goal.

  36. Share “upcoming specials” at parties and during phone calls.

  37. Tell your hostess how much she saved by having her party.

  38. Encourage frequent customers to regularly plan parties.

  39. Encourage hostesses to rebook a party in 6-9 months.

  40. Treat hostesses to a special “Hostess Appreciation Tea”

  41. Encourage relative to book a party.

  42. Call you realtor with suggestions for “new home packages”

  43. Run an ad in your local newspaper “Cooking Classes” (you decide type of cooking and if you’ll charge for them etc.)

  44. Start and E-mail address book of customers who want to know the monthly specials. Be sure to mention your hostess specials and sign up specials.

  45. Encourage your hostess and guests to refer potential hostesses to you.

  46. Offer a bridal registry.

  47. Promote the Watkins Bridal Shower shows/party.

  48. Describe and highlight the hostess plan during parties.

  49. Be friendly and enthusiastic.

  50. Follow through on every booking lead.

  51. Ask, Ask, Ask,

  52. Use open-ended questions when dealing with booking concerns. (ie. “What would be more convenient for you afternoon or evening parties’? Rather that, “Would you like to have a party?”)

  53. Read a page in your Products Profiles online and challenge yourself to sell 3 of those products that day!

  54. Call at least three potential hostesses every week.

  55. Use your products and recipes at home, office, camping, parties, etc.

  56. Set goals and review them constantly. Post them where you can see them.

  57. Ask friends to help you get started or reach a certain goal.

  58. Use hostess benefits flyers. Maybe attach an “additional 10%in products” for show held in February.

  59. Use postcards and/or customer newsletters to continue to spark interest in products, a recipe or booking a party.

  60. Follow up phone calls to particularly interested guests. They may later decide to have a party.

  61. Have the hostess tell why she decided to host a party.

  62. Give products as gifts or donations.

  63. Don’t be shy talking about your products or your business.

  64. Smile when talking on the phone (your voice changes).

  65. Review orders from past shows – who have bought frequently – call and let them know as a frequent buyer you have something special for them, etc.

  66. Be prepared to answer questions about your business.

  67. Write down names of people who invited you to a party…call them for a “pay back”

  68. Call potential hostesses who postponed or never booked.

  69. Spend time every day working on some aspect of your business.

  70. Be willing to share the business opportunity.

  71. Call anyone who has said “maybe” or “sometime”

  72. Contact schools, church groups and clubs for fundraisers.

  73. Advertise in school football or musical programs.

  74. Leave your business cards on bulletin boards or in local businesses.

  75. Talk about upcoming show specials with everyone.

  76. Keep a list of special requests and let those guests know when that product is on sale.

  77. Suggest hosting a show to do shopping without leaving home.

  78. Offer a bonus for hostesses who book on days and/or months you need an extra party.

  79. Give extra service and time to good customers – they will be repeat hostesses, customers and potential consultants.

  80. Carry a notepad to jot down business and customer name as you think of them.

  81. Let party guest keep a catalog and reward them for collection extra outside orders.

  82. Keep track of what your customers buy and call them when things are on sale.

  83. Use reorder stickers with your name and phone number on them and place them on the products.

3.   Then, on the left hand box look for PERSONAL SITE.  Click on the word UPDATE and you

are now ready to update your personal Watkins website.

Here is how to get started with your Watkins Business


Getting started with your Watkins Business is quite easy with Timeless Integrity Website.
You should have gotten an email on how to login in with your user name and password.  On the left hand side of the website you will see the SITE MENU.  Below it you will see TRAINING ARTICLES.  This is were you will find all the steps on how to independently walk yourself through self training.

50 Ways to Find Customers


50 Ways to Find Customers & Counting


Finding customers is easy, once you learn the basics.  Years ago a group of people got together and wrote down all the successful ways to sell Watkins.  Since then the list has been updated continuously.  It is still not an “all inclusive” list, so it is designed to stimulate your thinking.  Obviously some are outdated.  If you have any new ones please let me know! michelle@trustednaturalhomeproducts.com

  1. Welcome wagon – pay them to distribute your stamped flyers and labelled samples.
  2. Get a table or booth at flea markets, trade shows, and fairs.
  3. Ask you customers & friends for referrals (refer to “Who do you know?” flyer for specifics.
  4. Use Val Pak and other local direct mail services.
  5. Use the advertising channel on local cable T.V.
  6. List you number in Yellow Pages, under groceries, home delivery, etc.
  7. Arrange with a local restaurant for a free drawing.  You provide the gift basket & receive the leads.
  8. Put an ad in community newsletters.
  9. Join a sales lead swap group.  If you can’t find one, start one.
  10. Network with other sales people.
  11. Offer to speak at associations and club meetings.  They always need speakers.
  12. Put post cards for the catalog inside waiting room magazines, i.e. doctors, dentists, etc.
  13. Get to know building contractors.
  14. Support your local sports team.  Hand out flyers at the games.
  15. Use peel & stick labels with pictures of products in phone booths, rest rooms, etc.
  16. Order note pads with company information, & pass them out.
  17. Whenever you have an appointment at a business or home, NEVER leave the area until you visit the place on either side of your appointment and at least on place across the street.
  18.  Hire a telemarketer.
  19.  Hotels & other businesses frequently have business card setup areas.
  20. Place ads for personal service in newspapers and on bulletin boards in Laundromats, etc.
  21. Place an ad in the local TV listings.
  22. Your cheapest advertising, next to word of mouth, is your business card.  Leave them everywhere!
  23. Create a website
  24. Network with real estate agents.  Flyers & business cards can be left on the counter of show homes.
  25. Join associations like local Chamber of Commerce etc.
  26. Order new business listings from legal publications.
  27. Coupon books.  Offer to discount products or better yet, FREE Watkins products with large purchases.
  28. Other lists: homeowner’s associations, country club, PTA, service clubs (Lions Rotary, Kiwanis, etc)
  29. Leave customers with 5 business cards.  Pass out the cards if they will pass out yours.
  30. Pledge money or gifts to local public telethons that list contributors.
  31. Have a group of representative’s sponsor a Special Olympics or other special event.
  32. Find local direct selling clubs.
  33. New and used car dealers.  Show them how to increase sales by offering Watkins products.
  34. Network through Fraternities and Sororities to distribute products on campus.
  35. Become and expert on the local scene.  Offer you knowledge to local radio stations to be interviewed.
  36. Have a home party.  Offer the sponsor FREE Watkins products, then demo & retail products to the guests. (3 ways to maximize sales: parties, parties, & parties)
  37. Have a non-profit organization take on your products as a fundraiser (see new materials)
  38. Got to a local church to help them raise money.
  39. Post sales literature on community bulletin boards.
  40. Have a group of representatives compete as a team, and use the events to discuss products & the opportunity.
  41. Use a 1 800 number for customers and list in phone book or online directory’s .
  42. Get a list of local FAX numbers and fax copies of flyers to each one.
  43. Place flyers on the windshields of cars in a parking lot (be sure to check with local ordinances)
  44. Use the 3-foot rule: show the catalog to anyone within 3 feet of you (always have catalogs)
  45. Hire someone to distribute flyers or door hangers to homes in your area.
  46. Offer a free food saving survey to people coming out of a supermarket.
  47. Become involved with the neighborhood programs.
  48. Go to child care businesses and help them raise money with Watkins
  49. Place flyers in senior citizen centers.
  50. Use the magnetic signs on your r car and never go anywhere without catalogs.

  52. Use a draw form and collect names and what was purchased.   Call the customer when it goes on sale.
