DAILY BUSINESS ACTIVITIES FOR SUCCESS
Print this out and cut it apart in strips. Put the strips in a jar and draw out three every “Watkins Work Day” and put them into action! There are several that refer to parties – if you don’t do parties leave them out. Theses are some great ideas to give you a good jumpstart!
Send a catalog to a co-worker that has moved.
Send a catalog to other home business Reps. Or other exchange shows.
Post a catalog in the teacher’s lounge at your child’s school. .
Post a catalog in the employee’s lunchroom.
Hold an open house.
Have a booth at a school fair.
Advertise in you alumni newsletter and / or local newspaper.
Give a catalog to the receptionist at your doctor or dentist’s office.
Include a business card or flyer with your bill payments.
Call past hostesses and book another party.
Put a current catalog in your neighbour’s door. Include a 10% off coupon.
Ask friends to have a class/party/open house.
Advertise in you church/community newsletter.
Take a Watkins recipe to every potluck. Don’t forget to bring a few copies of the recipe.
Host an office coffee party or brunch.
Pass catalogs out at a PTA meeting.
Mail out flyers/promotion catalogs and a wish list.
Host your own party/open house. Could even be fundraiser for you favourite charity.
Join Welcome Wagon. New people may be looking for Watkins Products or an income opportunity.
Set up a display at a craft fair.
Participate in a school fundraiser.
Have your spouse or significant other promote the products at work.
Have you and your family members wear a Watkins T –Shirt or Sweatshirt.
Hold a Holiday Shopping Show for men (ie Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day)
Offer a wish list showing both gift and giver to your guest. Call the gift fiver and tell him/her what the guest wants.
Set up a display at a mall.
Put an “ask me about Watkins” button on your purse or coat.
Ask past hostesses at parties to talk about their free products.
Hold a career coffee (opportunity evening) in your home.
Cold Telephone Calling. Prepare a script to find out if they have a home-based business, if not would they be interested in looking at one?
Do a “hostess half price special” at your next party.
Mention the “hostess half price special” and other benefits at least 3 times per day.
Hold up higher priced products and mention half-price products to encourage booking.
Mention how much your “average” hostess gets in products.
At the beginning of your party, mention the hostess goal.
Share “upcoming specials” at parties and during phone calls.
Tell your hostess how much she saved by having her party.
Encourage frequent customers to regularly plan parties.
Encourage hostesses to rebook a party in 6-9 months.
Treat hostesses to a special “Hostess Appreciation Tea”
Encourage relative to book a party.
Call you realtor with suggestions for “new home packages”
Run an ad in your local newspaper “Cooking Classes” (you decide type of cooking and if you’ll charge for them etc.)
Start and E-mail address book of customers who want to know the monthly specials. Be sure to mention your hostess specials and sign up specials.
Encourage your hostess and guests to refer potential hostesses to you.
Offer a bridal registry.
Promote the Watkins Bridal Shower shows/party.
Describe and highlight the hostess plan during parties.
Be friendly and enthusiastic.
Follow through on every booking lead.
Ask, Ask, Ask,
Use open-ended questions when dealing with booking concerns. (ie. “What would be more convenient for you afternoon or evening parties’? Rather that, “Would you like to have a party?”)
Read a page in your Products Profiles online and challenge yourself to sell 3 of those products that day!
Call at least three potential hostesses every week.
Use your products and recipes at home, office, camping, parties, etc.
Set goals and review them constantly. Post them where you can see them.
Ask friends to help you get started or reach a certain goal.
Use hostess benefits flyers. Maybe attach an “additional 10%in products” for show held in February.
Use postcards and/or customer newsletters to continue to spark interest in products, a recipe or booking a party.
Follow up phone calls to particularly interested guests. They may later decide to have a party.
Have the hostess tell why she decided to host a party.
Give products as gifts or donations.
Don’t be shy talking about your products or your business.
Smile when talking on the phone (your voice changes).
Review orders from past shows – who have bought frequently – call and let them know as a frequent buyer you have something special for them, etc.
Be prepared to answer questions about your business.
Write down names of people who invited you to a party…call them for a “pay back”
Call potential hostesses who postponed or never booked.
Spend time every day working on some aspect of your business.
Be willing to share the business opportunity.
Call anyone who has said “maybe” or “sometime”
Contact schools, church groups and clubs for fundraisers.
Advertise in school football or musical programs.
Leave your business cards on bulletin boards or in local businesses.
Talk about upcoming show specials with everyone.
Keep a list of special requests and let those guests know when that product is on sale.
Suggest hosting a show to do shopping without leaving home.
Offer a bonus for hostesses who book on days and/or months you need an extra party.
Give extra service and time to good customers – they will be repeat hostesses, customers and potential consultants.
Carry a notepad to jot down business and customer name as you think of them.
Let party guest keep a catalog and reward them for collection extra outside orders.
Keep track of what your customers buy and call them when things are on sale.
Use reorder stickers with your name and phone number on them and place them on the products.
